Robert Caldwell Lewis

Robert Caldwell Lewis Sr, 77, died on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton, NC,  at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022.  (changed from Friday due to weather)  The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00p.m. on January 20, 2022 at Warlick Funeral Home for those wishing to sign the guest register.
Bob was born December 31, 1944, in Lincolnton, to the late Darrell and Nancy Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Leon Lewis, Michael Lewis, and William Pruitt. His surviving spouse is Jane Dickson Lewis. Surviving children are Dana Pruitt, and Robby Lewis Jr. (Ingrid). Surviving grandchildren are Sarabeth Pruitt, Frankie Pruitt, Liam Lewis, and Mila Lewis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are Jeannie Lewis, and Don Lewis (Skye).
Bob was born in Lincolnton, NC. Bob graduated from Ashley High School in 1963. He attended Mars Hill College, and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he received his Juris Doctorate.
Bob practiced law in Lincolnton, N.C. for thirty-five years. He began his law career as an associate of Clarence Leatherman. Five years later he and Marty Shuford started the Lewis and Shuford law firm in Lincolnton, N.C.
Bob served in various community positions; Lincoln County Attorney, Lincoln County Hospital Attorney, directories in the Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of First Pilot Savings and Loan, as well as offices in the local and district Bar Association. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Robert was an Adjunct professor of medical ethics to nurses at Gaston College and CVCC.
Bob had a debilitating stroke in 2006, and suffered from the effects until his death. Bob’s greatest joy was his family. His greatest happiness was watching his children, and grandchildren grow up. He will be greatly missed.
Memorials: Lincoln County Christian Ministries, or the YMCA.
