James Michael Yelton
Dr. Michael Yelton of Jefferson died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at his home. He was 69.
Dr. Yelton was born Aug. 15, 1945 in Gaffney, S.C. to James and Betty Joe Yelton. Dr. Yelton was preceded in death by his parents.
Dr. Yelton was director and set designer for Ashe County Little Theater. He was active in theater for over 40 years. Michael was a chef and restaurant owner for many years. Michael's motto was "good food is good art."
Dr. Yelton is survived by his husband, Gary Lee? two sons, Jared (Becky) Yelton of West Jefferson and Adam (Sarah) Yelton of Athens, Ga.? brother, Bruce Yelton of Gastonia? four grandchildren: Hunter Yelton, Isabell Yelton, Ella Yelton and Corinne Yelton? and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of remembrance was held Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at Badger Funeral Home.
