John Stephen Turlington Sr., 58, died Oct. 8, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Columbus County, son of the late Waitus "Dick" Sr. and Mildred Jones Turlington, member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Gastonia, retired from Trac Plastics Inc., Army veteran.
