Elizabeth "Louise" Love Keir, 79, of Gastonia passed away April 6, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, NC, a daughter of the late Samuel DeRonda Love and Betty Thompson Love and granddaughter of the late Charles and Nell Thompson and William T. and Elizabeth Love.

Louise graduated from Frank L. Ashley High School, class of 1963 and Wingate University. She was an Executive Secretary in the medical field for over twenty-five years and a preschool teacher for sixteen years, the last nine at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member and grew up as a child. She served on the Youth, Communion, Pastoral Care and Nominating Committees. Louise was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and Women's Circle No. 2. She was a member of the Ultimae Carissamae (UC) Book Club, and was active in Girl Scouts, both as a scout and a leader. Louise was also involved with the Children's Miracle Network, Levine Children's Hospital and enjoyed planning class reunions for her Ashley High School class. She had a deep love for her family, friends, children, needlework and music. Louise played the piano daily, which brought her much joy. She will always be a special "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Wynton, Cecelia and Walker Clark.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Caroline Keir Clark (Stephen); sister, Catherine Love Bunnell (Jim); brothers, Sam Love, Jr. (Jan) and Bill Love (Nancy); grandsons, Wynton and Walker Clark; granddaughter, Cecelia Clark; niece, Karen; nephews, Jay, Carter and Mike; cousins, Bunny and Fred; special dear friends, Rich, Amanda, Clete, Saylor and Wade.

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her cousin, Nancy and special dear friend, Richard Jarman.

A private inurnment will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 12:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia sanctuary, with Rev. Dan Commerford and Rev. Brad Simpson officiating. Following the service, there will be a visitation for friends and family in the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Gallery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Music Program, 1621 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054 or Levine Children's Hospital, PO Box 32861, Charlotte, NC 28232.

Louise was one of the kindest members of the Class os 63.  I will always remember her in this way.  In addition somehow she manage to maintain her petite size through out her life. I expect that being a teacher at Presbyterian Primary School was a reward experiance for her.  This is where we sent our children and two of our grandchildren.  She will be missed.
