It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Dale Ertzberger, 80, of Gastonia, NC, who left us peacefully on May 17, 2025. Born on November 30, 1944, Roger was a lifelong resident of Gaston County, cherished son of the late Walker and Willie Camp Ertzberger.
Roger was a devoted member of the Dallas Church of God and proudly served as a U.S. Army veteran. He is remembered not only for his service but also for his warm spirit and love for family.
He is survived by his wife Mary "Mickey" Ertzberger, his daughters, Angela Waters, along with Monica Crutchfield (Jerry). Roger's legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Jessica Waters, Nathaniel Waters, and Noah Crutchfield, as well as his great-grandchildren, Elijah Jones, Kieran Martin, and Tucker Waters. He is now reunited in heaven with his dear parents, and brother, Danny Ertzberger, who preceded him.
Family and friends are welcome to come together to celebrate Roger's life. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:30 pm at the Dallas Church of God, located at 311 S College St, Dallas, NC 28034. Following the service, Roger will be laid to rest at Gaston Memorial Park, with military honors.
Friends and family can gather for visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the church. We invite everyone to come share their memories and pay their respects.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walker and Willie Ertzberger, brother, Danny Ertzberger.
