ROBERT KENLEY       GASTONIA — Robert Michael “Mike” Kenley, 68, passed away Sept. 14, 2013, at Robin Johnson Hospice House.

 

   He was a native of Gaston County, son of Robert Frances Kenley and the late Dorothy Haynes Kenley.

 

   Mike was a real estate appraiser and among many of his accomplishments include volunteering with the Salvation Army Boys Club, coached Little League baseball, was a past commissioner with the Pop Warner Football League, was an official with the local Golden Gloves, and was a self taught watch maker. He attended Parkwood Baptist Church. His goal in life was to make people smile every day. Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.   

 

   Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of forty nine years, Barbara Stewart Kenley; sons, Michael Kenley and wife Kris, Jason Kenley; sisters, Stephania Morgan and husband Leonard, Toni Pasour; granddaughter, Mabel Kenley, “The light of his life”; brother-in-law, Jim Stewart and wife Brenda; sister-inlaw, Chris Woodruff and husband Hugh, and a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 

   A funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with the Rev. Fain Farmer officiating.   

 

   The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be private for the family.
